Now on the fun side ...
We ordered a removable hard top from APE. It showed up a few weeks
ago and looks great! I've actually started on a second project and I'm
heavily into it right now, but I hope to unpack the top, Nope, haven't
even done that yet, and see how she looks soon. I've got a few parts sitting
around to be installed on her. We thought we would wait until the cold
weather sets in before we start, which it has done very nicely! On the
list of to do:
1)Check all bolts for tightness
2)Close off engine bay
3)Fix gas Gauge
4)Fix heater core hoses
5)Fix Shifter
6)install Hard top
7)Install Oil cooler
8)Install new heater ducts
1) Good idea since it's finally got 1000 miles on her, I was fortunate
enough to be driving her at the mark!
2) The heat coming from the engine bay follows along the body beside
the foot wells and comes in full force by the door hinges. Hope to put
some spray foam or something in there to block it off.
3)Last time I installed the dash I hooked up the wrong wire to the
gas gauge and does not work
4)heater hoses are under a little stress because they are a little
short. I would like to give them a little more slack.
5)While driving her around one day Dad lost 2nd and 4th. the shifter
stop fell out and was pushing the stop forward keeping her out of those
gears. I need to get in there and replace the nut and lock tight it this
time.
6)Top must be test fit and painted
7)Ordered a oil cooler from www.cobraaccessories.com,
She was running a little hot in the Virginia Sun
8)The heater does really nothing because all the vents are covered
up with stuff. We are going to make some ducts to install so we can get
them to a more useful location.
That's about it for now. I hope to have updates more frequently during the cold months!
