ROOFTOP DECK AND ADA BATHROOMS

Background: A Condominium building is a thirteen (13) story high-rise, steel-framed building that was constructed in 1964 and encloses a total of two hundred twenty-six (226) residential units.  The building features a brick masonry façade, cantilevered balconies, flat roof and a roof top observation deck. The roof top deck was outdated and owner wanted to replace it with a new deck, as well as renovate existing bathrooms.

Design approach: Design of new roof top deck creates a new amenity space with sitting areas and planters. The deck features a trellis structure, planters with integrated benches, and cable railing. We designed a new modern roof top amenity space that compliments the existing style of the building, as well as renovated the existing bathrooms with new finishes, complying with the American Disabilities Act and International Building Code.
