HISTORIC FACADE RENOVATION

Background: The structure is a U-shape office building, that is approximately fifty-five (55) years old. The building is located in the historic district of Clifton and it has several tenants, including a Café, a Dry Cleaners, a Post Office and various business offices. The facade of the building features lap-siding and masonry wall.

Design approach: Design of the window replacement included architectural research of the City of Clifton and close coordination with the Historic Board and the developer. We documented exact sizes and profiles of all the building’s historic features for its preservation. We also worked closely with the team members to create a new façade, that includes new siding, dormer windows, roof cupola and a front porch that is well suited for the town’s historic setting.
